Event description A half day workshop looking at key concepts to support families in:
- Building Blocks to Changes
- Building Family Strengths
- Building Protection in Context

At the end of the session participants will be able to consider how their own values and experience impact on work with children and families and how individuals manage change. The session will support participants to work in a strength-based way and to understand how trauma may manifest itself in young people and families. Participants will be encouraged to step out of their expert role and to empower the family to become experts of their own solutions. Risk and vulnerability within its carried context will be explored. The theme of professional curiosity and critical reflection will run through the planned session.

- Biases and assumptions
- Values of practice and social graces
- Positive re-framing
- Strength-based and solution focused approaches
- Trauma informed practice
- Genograms
- Ecological approaches and impact
- Contextual safeguarding
- Restorative approaches
